The Museum is priviledged to offer a watercolor workshop by renowned artist and Glassell School of Art instructor Arthur Turner. Mr. Turner received his B.A. from North Texas State University, Denton, Texas and his M.F.A. from Cranbrook Academy of Art, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Mr. Turner has won numerous awards for his outstanding works.

Supplies Needed:
Watercolor paper
-
Academie Watercolor Pad, 15 sheets, 12”X
18” Mead Paper CO., (cost: approx. $4.50)
Available at Walgreens and H.E.B.
-
For blocks of paper (if desired) 3 or more students can share either
Morilla, or Arches Special, 140 lb. wt., 20 sheets, 12” 16”.
Paint
A basic watercolor palette consisting of the following
colors:
-
2 yellows: cad yellow, deep, and lemon yellow
-
2 reds: alizarin, crimson, and cad red light
-
2 blues: ultramarine and phthalo (thalo)
-
plus ivory black and paynes gray
Brushes
Also Needed
-
2 (1 pt.) plastic or tin containers for water
-
1 small (2”X 3”) natural sponge
-
1 roll 1 ½” or 2” masking tape (3 or 4 students can share)
-
1 2H pencil
-
1 palette (at least 12” X 16” for mixing pigments)
