HOME IN SAN ANTONE:
ARTISTS TEACHING IN
SAN ANTONIO ART SCHOOLS
An exhibition of works by San Antonio arts faculty from The University
of Texas, San Antonio, Palo Alto College, International School of Design and
Technology, San Antonio College, Northeast Lakeview College, and the Southwest
School of Art opens at the Beeville Art Museum on May 7 and will remain on view
through July 20, 2011.
Home in San Antone: Artists Teaching in San Antonio
Art Schools is the second in a series of exhibitions
sponsored by the Beeville museum, focusing on art educators across the
state. The first exhibition
highlighted the work of artists working and teaching in Houston. Stated Ken Little, curator of the
exhibition, and Professor of Fine Arts at the University of Texas, San Antonio, "We're honored to be included in the Beeville Artists in Academics series, and look forward to presenting the
work of our talented San Antonio artists to the rest of the state."
The exhibition Home in San Antone: Artists Teaching in San
Antonio Art Schools, features works by approximately twenty artists working
and teaching in San Antonio, and includes painting, print, drawing, watercolor,
photography, video, and sculpture.
The exhibition opening is scheduled for Saturday, May 7, 12 - 2:00 p.m.,
and open to the public free of charge.
Many of the artists will be in attendance and available to talk about
their work.
Artists featured in the
exhibition include Ricky Armendariz, Susan Budge, Nate Cassie, Judith Cottrell,
Ovidio Giberga, Buster Graybill, Jasmyne Graybill, Mark Hansen, Mark Hogensen,
Ken Little, Connie Lowe, Karen Mahaffy, Rick Martinez, Michele Monseau, Katie
Pell, Juan Ramos and Libby Rowe.
