A group of six Texas artists have made artwork inspired by the 'landscape' of the streets and highways. Their interest focused on road debris, tire fragments, and vehicular wheels. Each of the artists expressed their unique responses to the theme. They used a wide range of media which reveals their conceptual basis for the work.
Examples of the ideas inherent in the art:
- History of production of rubber which led to transfer of populations and globalization of production
- Travel and personal family history
- Recycling and transformation
- The formal beauty of the shapes and lines in the wheels and tires
