Exhibit Opening- BAMFA - Negativity of AI: Artificial Intelligence - with the Artists
Beeville Art Museum Future Artists (BAMFA) is excited to present this year’s group exhibition, Negativity of AI: Artificial Intelligence. Inspired by the rapid rise of AI and its potential negative impact – particularly within the world of art. This exhibition explores the complex relationship between technology and human creativity.
Our future artists are deeply passionate about how AI is affecting our world especially the artistic community. Through their work, they challenge viewers to reflect on the consequences of overreliance on AI and emphasize the importance of independent thought and creativity.
This exhibition serves as a reminder to use your own mind – to think critically, create authentically, and not to depend on artificial intelligence to determine your every move.
Exhibit Opening - Portraiture: Four Perspectives - with the Artists
The Beeville Art Museum (BAM) presents Portraiture: Four Perspectives, spotlighting four contemporary artists whose work offers distinct lenses on portraiture and identity. From varied regional, cultural and methodological vantage points, the contributors to this exhibit are:
Nate Barcot: A young portraiture artist who recently won the Scholastic National Gold Medal for his work, he naturally captures the human essence and emotion of his subjects through oil and mixed media.
Clinton Millsap: Using a variety of materials, from pencils, pens and markers to acrylics, iron-oxide paints, carved wood and mixed media, he explores identity and narrative in portraiture form.
Alison McLean Schuchs: A self-taught artist working exclusively in oils uses traditional methods to bring emotional depth to her subjects.
Blanquita Sullivan: A mixed media portraiture artist evokes personality beyond mere likeness through the texture and emotional resonance of her colorful pieces.
These artists represent diverse artistic voices from across Texas, bringing together a rich tapestry of backgrounds and approaches.
“Each artist offers a unique take on portraiture,” BAM Director Tracy Saucier said. “With this multi-artist exhibit, visitors can enjoy diverse perspectives on the human form and discover the styles that resonate most with them.”
Works left to right: Nate Barcot, Clinton Millsap, Alison Schuchs, and Blanquita Sullivan.
