BAM offers a selection of classes all summer to keep children and students connected and their creative juices flowing! Every August, the Museum’s Children Exhibit displays artwork created by participants. Join us for an opening reception for the exhibition the first Saturday in August. Everyone is welcome!
Advance registration is required, and space is limited. Registrations are processed in the order they are received on a first-come, first-served basis. If a class if full you can request to be placed on the waiting list.

One Week Camps
Each week features a guest artist who has created special projects for BAM students in a variety of mediums.
June 15 - 19: Elements Connected
Age 7-9: SPACE AVAILABLE
Age 10-12: SPACE AVAILABLE
Inspired by the five Chinese elements—water, wood, fire, earth, and metal—students will create colorful mixed-media designs using a variety of craft materials. Through hands-on projects, young artists will learn about balance in nature while building unique artworks throughout the week. Led by Tiffany Heng-Hui Lee.
July 20 - 24: Clay, Animals, and Faces
Age 7-9: SPACE AVAILABLE
Age 10-12: SPACE AVAILABLE
Students will explore clay sculpting through animals and faces, learning both 2D and 3D techniques. Each project encourages artistic expression while developing fine motor skills and self-confidence. Led by Crystal Farris
There is a $5 registration fee per student per session; advance registration required; space is limited. Applications are accepted in person and cash only.
One & Two Day Workshops
Workshops allow children to explore their creative side and work with a specific artistic medium.
Wednesday, June 3: Magical Mapmakers
Ages 5 - 6: 9 - 11 AM SPACE AVAILABLE
Ages 7-12: 1 - 3 PM SPACE AVAILABLE
Young artists will design their own magical world by creating a unique fantasy map filled with rivers, mountains, towns, and imaginative details like dragons or sea creatures. Using creative techniques and colorful materials, students will bring their land to life while exploring storytelling, geography, and artistic design. Led by Diana Martinez.
Wednesday, June 10: Beaded Botanicals
Ages 5 - 6: 9 - 11 AM SPACE AVAILABLE
Ages 7-12: 1 - 3 PM SPACE AVAILABLE
In this fun, hands-on workshop, students will create their own sparkling beaded plants using colorful beads, wire, and small flower pots. Young artists will explore color, patterns, and simple construction techniques while building a unique botanical sculpture to take home. Led by Marcie Martinez.
Tuesday & Wednesday, June 23 - 24: Mixed Media Jellyfish
Ages 5 - 6: 9 - 11 AM SPACE AVAILABLE
Ages 7-12: 1 - 3 PM SPACE AVAILABLE
Young artists will paint an underwater background and create a colorful jellyfish using collage materials, yarn or ribbon tentacles, and playful textures. Students will explore color, shape, and imagination while building their own vibrant ocean scene. Led by Victoria Shay.
Wednesday, July 1: Whimsical Animal Portraits
Ages 5 - 6: 9 - 11 AM SPACE AVAILABLE
Ages 7-12: 1 - 3 PM SPACE AVAILABLE
In this fun mixed-media workshop, students will transform recycled egg cartons into whimsical animal portraits! Using paint, collage, and dimensional materials, young artists will build expressive faces and colorful backgrounds. Led by Diana Martinez.
Tuesday & Wednesday, July 7 - 8: Matisse Paper Studio
Ages 5 - 6: 9 - 11 AM SPACE AVAILABLE
Ages 7-12: 1 - 3 PM SPACE AVAILABLE
Get inspired by the bold colors and shapes of Henri Matisse in this fun, hands-on workshop for young artists. Students will create colorful torn-paper collages and explore simple printmaking techniques while experimenting with shape, color, and creativity. Led by Rianna Kirkham.
Wednesday, July 15: Serape Sessions
Ages 5 - 6: 9 - 11 AM SPACE AVAILABLE
Ages 7-12: 1 - 3 PM SPACE AVAILABLE
In this colorful workshop, students will explore the vibrant stripes and patterns of traditional sarape blankets. Young artists will paint bold designs, add decorative patterns, and finish their artwork with yarn fringe to create a bright textile-inspired piece. Led by Marcie Martinez.

Teen Art Workshops
Summer Workshops are taught by our guest artists and are specifically designed for teens.

Inspired by the five Chinese elements—water, wood, fire, earth, and metal—teens will experiment with mixed-media materials to design a unique canvas tote bag in either two- or three-dimensional formats. Led by Tiffany Heng-Hui Lee.
Wednesday, July 12: Bold Lines: Pen & Ink Drawing - SPACE AVAILABLE
Create striking black-and-white artwork using pen, ink, charcoal, and pencil. In this one-day workshop, teens will learn drawing techniques and experiment with bold lines, shading, and texture on Bristol board. Led by David Vickers.

Adult Classes (18+)
BAM provides a variety of classes throughout the year led by local and regional artists. Classes are available for all levels and have included jewelry making, pottery, calligraphy, print making and drawing. Material fees may apply. Check our calendar for upcoming classes.
